ELTE Pol-IR Working Paper Series is an open source academic publication of the Institute of Political and International Studies at the Faculty of Social Sciences of Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE). 

The general aim is to make available to experts and the general public the fruits of scholarly research done at the Institute before they are further developed and fully crystallized to a more formal publication. We wish to enhance academic debate for the benefit of the research community of International Relations, European Studies, Political Sciences and related fields. Authors may profit in several ways: besides academic credit and publicity they can expect feedback for their on-going work, and they can make sure their copyright is protected before they have a chance to publish a final version of their paper. 

Manuscripts of professors/researchers of the Institute are given preference, but external authors’ papers may also be accepted if they fit the general profile of the Series according to the editors. Prospective authors are to provide a short abstract along with the paper for evaluation. The editors review the manuscripts, make a decision based on the originality and quality of the content and stylistic clarity, and may suggest revisions.

Works should preferably be written in English but can also be accepted in Hungarian. The length should be 8000+/-500 words. Citations should follow the Chicago author-page, in-text style. Academic honesty must be strictly maintained. 

Submitted and accepted working papers are to stay on this website indefinitely. We encourage authors to report if and when a further developed final draft is published elsewhere (e.g. as an article or book chapter). This information will then be indicated next to the working paper. Copyrights remain with the authors.
