Zoltán Simon
HONORARY ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR
Dr Zoltán Simon is an Honorary Associate Professor at Eötvös Loránd (ELTE) University in Budapest, Hungary. He graduated in History and in Law, and received his PhD in Political Science (2009) and his habilitation in Sociology (2015) from ELTE. He has been teaching at various universities in Hungary, and the Boston University Brussels. His main research interests include the European Union, its institutions and decision-making mechanisms, its external action, and contemporary European politics. He is the author and editor of five books, and a number of other publications. He was a Marshall Memorial Fellow 2007 with the German Marshall Fund of the United States (GMF). He gave lectures and talks at the University of Oxford, the King’s College in London, or the Erasmus University College in Rotterdam in the past years. He has been living in Brussels and working in the European Parliament since 2005. He has served as a policy adviser and later in different management positions in the area of EU external action. He is fluent in English and in French beyond his Hungarian mother tongue.
