Short CV:
Laura Kromják earned her PhD in English and American Studies from the University of Graz, Austria, 2017; an MA in English Studies from the University of Pécs in 2013; an MA in Economic Diplomacy and an MA in English Language and Culture Teaching from the Károli Gáspár University of the Reformed Church in Hungary in 2018. Her dissertation explored identity, memory politics and witness testimonies of Bosnian-Herzegovinian refugees in the United States. Her interdisciplinary research is community-focused and regionally focused on the Western Balkans, with an emphasis on trauma research, memory politics and reconciliation in divided societies. Her research interests also include crisis migration and post-war family dynamics, especially the challenges facing elderly population both in Bosnia and Herzegovina and its diaspora. She has held fellowships at the Saint Louis University, U.S.A. and at the University of Bayreuth, Germany. Alongside her scholarly pursuits, she has served as a European Representative to the Center for Bosnian Studies at the Fontbonne University, U.S.A.
